The ductile iron pipelines manufactured for the Australian and New Zealand markets are produced in two of the companies most impressive production facilities in Abu Dhabi and India. Adopting the latest innovative techniques, manufacturing processes and controls allows us to deliver the highest quality ductile iron pipelines directly to the global market. Between these two dedicated manufacturing facilities, Jindal SAW has a combined capacity of 850,000 MT per annum, ensuring continuous supply and the ability to meet all demands.
The Jindal Gulf operation is one of the most advanced lined pipeline manufacturing plants in the world. It is the largest integrated plant in the Middle East producing large size ductile iron pipelines of various sizes, focussing on providing high-quality techno-economic solutions for water transportation and sewage systems. Utilising the latest technology and most up-to-date manufacturing techniques, the facility has an installed capacity of 350,000 MT per annum, producing ductile iron pipelines ranging from DN100 to DN2600.
The Jindal SAW Abu Dhabi manufacturing facility is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 certification by Bureau Veritas, and produces pipelines conforming to a range of international standards such as AS/NZS 2280, ISO 2531, BSEN 545, BSEN 598 and ISO 7186.
In addition to the production of Ductile Iron Cement Lined (DICL) and Ductile Iron Polyurethane Lined (DIPU) pipelines the plant also offers various coating options including Zn & Zn-Al as per national & international standards, blue/red epoxy, bitumen, and polyethylene.
The plant boasts its own blast furnace unit to provide a continuous feed of hot metal to the casting unit, and an advanced pollution control system that makes the plant environmentally friendly and maintains the natural ecology of the area.
Commissioned in 2005, the Jindal SAW India operation has the largest capacity of ductile iron pipe manufacturing at a single location. The installed capacity is 500,000 MT per annum for pipeline sizes DN80 to DN1000.
Commissioned in 2014, Jindal SAW has built a dedicated fittings manufacturing plant in Gujarat, India, which produces a complete range of fittings for DN80 to DN2200 pipelines with an annual capacity of 18,000 MT.
Catering to the European and American markets, Jindal also has manufacturing facilities in Italy and the USA. The ductile iron pipeline manufacturing plant in Sertubi, Italy has an installed capacity of 80,000 MT per annum across sizes DN80 to DN800.
In 2014, Jindal SAW expanded its reach and operational capacity into North America with the addition of a US facility, spread over 155 acres in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

Utilising top-grade, 100% Australian sourced Coking Coal, Jindal SAW Ductile Iron pipelines are manufactured with the highest quality raw materials under the most stringent controls at every stage to create a product of international repute. Ductile Iron is produced by treating the molten low–sulphur base iron with magnesium under closely controlled conditions. The startling change in the metal is characterized by the free graphite in ductile iron being deposited in the spheroidal or nodular form, leading to maximum continuity of the metal matrix, thereby forming a stronger and tougher ductile material with high ductility and impact strength. The Jindal SAW Group has a proven ability to meet the world’s toughest quality assurance guidelines resulting in high quality products for the most demanding pipeline applications.
Our Ductile Iron Cement Lined (DICL) and Ductile Iron Polyurethane Lined (DIPU) pipelines are manufactured at our state-of-the-art facilities in Abu Dhabi and India. Both plants feature fully automated manufacturing processes to ensure consistently high quality pipelines, lining, coatings and fittings are delivered.
